The Fanfare FT-1 is the only U.S.- designed and built, FM tuner/monitor on the market today that meets the quality and features requirements as expressed by the FM audiophile, and the FM broadcast professional. Rated 'exceptional' in its overall capabilities, the FT-1 brings with it a concentration on those elements deemed most significant to the true FM audiophile . . . sensitivity, selectivity and sound. In doing so the FT-1 reaches out to capture and hold on to weak station signals. As well, it separates those signals that might otherwise be hopelessly enmired in the rampancy of today's big-city radio congestion. And, it brings them to the fore with remarkable clarity and quietness. Equally important, and perhaps even more to the audiophile, is the FT-1's uncanny sonic transparency. In fact just about everyone who has heard the FT-1 have expressed astonishment over how precisely it seems able to reproduce the quality of the source, yet with none of the 'transistor-edge' that typifies the sound of most 'frequency-synthesized' FM tuners today. The FT-1 is outstanding in a number of ways when compared with its competition. For example, it utilizes both digital and analog design techniques to accomplish its task. Rather than to merely drive a frequency display, this unique utilization of digital technology is joined seamlessly with the analog environment to establish a truly stable balance of sensitivity and selectivity through continuous, automatic tuning. As a result, the FT-1 can faithfully deliver all the drama and excitement contained in the programming just as it was when it left the station's transmitter. Noteworthy to those who feel an analog FM tuner should have a center-tune meter, is the absence of one. Much of the reason for this can be found in the FT-1's remarkable, UNISET, microprocessor-controlled, frequency monitor. Here, the incoming signal is monitored continuously for on-frequency status. Should the tuned station drift, for whatever reason, the UNISET circuit will make instantaneous adjustments in tuning in order to maintain a track with the station signal. Also unique about the Fanfare FT-1 FM tuner is that its design has taken into consideration the needs of the FM broadcast industry where the FT-1 takes on the role of an 'off air monitor' or a translator demodulator*. Such attention to the rigors of the professional environment has ultimately led to a tuner/monitor which has considerable integrity, both in terms of sensitivity and ruggedness. As such, 'Composite Output' and balanced audio outputs are standard; an essential requirement for use in the broadcast industry. Designed to meet exacting standards, the Fanfare FT-1 offers a host of important features; not the least of which is fully transparent stereo reception providing true sonic reproduction and accuracy of sound stage.
