FT-1A Mk III Audiophile Series
AnalogFM tuner/monitor |
|
NEW with the FT1A Mk III
Even though the design technology developed in the FT1A Mk I would likely still outperform most north american audiophlile tuners available today, the Mk III now does a great deal more. In 2002, Fanfare introduced the FT1AP to the broadcast market as a remote receiver. In this job the FT1AP is called upon to run 24x7 without fail in many different climates, fare tuner will be the receiving source you are listening to. At this point, there are many of these units installed in moutain top transmitter shacks and in the penthouse equipment rooms of tall buildings all over the US and Canada. As a matter of fact, if your FM programming comes off a translator, there is a good chance you might be listening to a Fanfare FT1AP. More and more radio stations are discovering the performance capability and reliability of the Fanfare receiver. And with that discovery, those that have installed a Fanfare receiver are hearing their audiences are commenting on the improvement in sound and the more reliable strength of signal they are now being treated to. |

Continuing the tradition of its predecessor, and designed to the same exacting standards, the FT-1A is now the only North American- designed and built, FM tuner/monitor on the market today that meets the quality, features and performance requirements as expressed by the FM audiophile, and the FM broadcast professional. Through the convenience of its standard, full-function, IR remote control and program- mable presets, the FT-1A provides all the functions necessary for integration into any multi-channel, home entertainment system. In terms of performance, the FT-1A is the ultimate combination of high sensitivity, selectivity and CD-like audio clarity and accuracy. Able to lift fragile signals from the mire of today's FM congestion, those FM audiophiles who choose the FT-1A will delight in discovering the increased selection of FM stations they are able to receive. This coupled with the FT-1A's excellent selectivity, and with both sensitivity and selectivity balanced to provide the most accurate audio possible, it's a foregone conclusion, your regular music sources will now include that of FM radio. Differing only its architecture and an updated control system, the FT-1A is destined to join its predecessor, the FT-1 as one of the greatest achievers in analog tuner design today. And with joining the FT-1 as one of the quietest and most sensitive analog* tuners in the world, the FT-1A can now lay claim to being the most up-to date. While another, less sophisticated analog tuner designs requires you to manually manipulate its functions, all of the FT-1A's functions are automatic, or push-button selectable from either the front |

panel, from the remote control, or via (NEW) RS-232 serial data I/O. What's more, tuning is always dead accurate from startup, thereby eliminating the necessity for warmup time, a not-uncommon trait of other analog designs. Tuning is accomplished in the FT-1A by two methods. You can either tune up or down quickly with the 'tune' button, or you can scan up or down for 'listenable' stations using the (new for FT-1A) 'scan' buttons. This is preferred by the majority because it is manipulated easily and does not require the listener to attend the tuner and physically manipulate a tuning knob. Presets are programmed from the tuner's front panel, or from the remote controller, by simply tuning to the desired station, setting the receive and IF band modes, and pressing the desired preset until the SET light flashes. The FT-1A's analog tuning accuracy is established and maintained by a very precise, phase locked loop (PLL) system .... an integral part of the FT-1A's UNISET system whose upgradable, firmware nerve center provides operational control of the tuner's functions. We feel this system is functionally superior to systems requiring use of a meter. Why, because meters, while they are aesthetically pleasing, always have a margin of error which could easily translate into reduced stereo separation. Therefore, listeners must be totally reliant on their ears for best stereo separation. In contrast, the FT-1A tunes dead-on station every time, and stays on station, providing maximum stereo separation all the time.
