Fanfare FM-2G FM antenna
is the "original" ... not a copy!

In the December issue of Stereophile, a Magnum Dynalab advertisement stated "There is only one Magnum Dynalab ST-2, the rest are only copies". While we know of no other antennas out the re calling themselves the 'ST-2', the comment implies that any other antenna out there that looks like the ST-2 is a 'copy'.

The truth be known, the ST-2 antenna is itself a copy of the vertical FM dipole antenna design originated by Andrew Nuttle in 1982. The manufacturer from whom Magnum Dynalab purchases their ST-2 came by that design as a result of an arrangement with Mr. Nuttle some time ago.

However, it is a more than a coincidence that the FM-2G vertical FM dipole marketed by Fanfare FM is a lot like the ST-2. It is the original Andrew Nuttle design and the one on which the ST-2 was based. However, the FM-2G is a new version of the original, with the update carried out by its designer. As a result, the FM-2G has been made even more efficient .

We have also heard that the Magnum Dynalab ST-2 has a 'proprietary' coil design which means nothing unless the unit functions reliably with each unit made. With the FM-2G, you're assured reliable performance every time, as only the established track record of a successful, original design, can provide.

It is not our wish, nor our purpose to defame any other manufacturer. However, when a competitor chooses to make sweepingly fallacious statements about their product, and in the process impugns the integrity of our products and our reputation, it is time to challenge the truth of those statements and set the matter straight.

Update (6/99) We have since seen the ads mentioned above to disappear from Stereophiles pages and we are pleased to see that the truth has prevailed.
